I was jogging down Rycroft Street, going to the cornershop when I saw God.
He/she/it was standing there looking up and down the street. If I had to guess, I would say he/she/it was lost.
So I stopped and asked first if they were if fact God.
He/she/it responded yes in that commanding voice one is led to expect from such a major deity. I asked what was up, was it the apocalypse or something. He/she/it shook his/her/its head and looked sort of embarassed. But it could have been the late afternoon sun.
God looked past me in that allseeing way, down the block. I asked if they were lost. He/she/it said no, that they were just a little late. I asked if I was being tested. That seemed to annoy God, and He/she/it started to cross the street. I asked God to tell me what he/she/it was looking for and he/she/it said the Y. He/she/it was supposed to be at a meeting, he/she/it seemed guarded about this.
I pointed out the Y, some two blocks down Sheridan between the wireless shop and the coffee house.
God said thank you and started down the street.
I said I was glad to be of service, and continued on my way. I was glad God was finally getting the help he/she/it so desperately needed.
