It was like Red Dawn, except all the Russian invaders were Al Quaeda. There were huge 9-11-like catastrophies happening all over the landscape - on the shore, massive missles nobody had ever seen before were being imported on cargo ships. American Aircraft carriers could be seen smoldering in the distance. Terrorist militants were barking in Arabic, pushing stunned pedestrians along the streets with their assault rifles. Ahead, the crowds were being loaded into the backs of 18 wheelers.
Up the hill, the Capitol building had taken a hit - the spire was gone and the dome looked like an eggshell with its top sliced off. Smoke was pouring out and upwards, towards the west, with the breeze. In the chaos, I managed to duck out through a parking lot. I jogged up to the Capitol building, where I noticed that the other side of the dome was jaggedly cracked open. I could see Oriental rugs and hardwood banisters up there. I made my way inside, thinking nobody would look for me in here, and swiftly climbed the infinite and dizzying stairs.
From here I could get a clear look at the situation. I had many questions: How did terrorists get the money and organization for all this? Where was our government? Who dropped the ball? Would the presidential elections even take place? Possibly the Yankees Red Sox game would be cancelled. Jesus fucking Christ, I thought, as it all hit me at once: what's going to happen with the Red Sox?
