What was left of Johnny sat on the Army Hospital bed in a wet bandaged flesh lump, all stumps and brain. Around him stood a team of serious looking doctors and variety of stern military brass. Johnny rhythmically pounded his head against his pillow. He had been doing it continuously for nearly a day.
“Oh my Gawd, sir, I think I figured it out. “
“What is it Corporal?”
“It’s Morse code sir!”
“Cool!”
They all stared at Johnny, exchanging uncomfortable side glances for what felt like seven minutes.
“For the love of Gawd, man, what’s he trying to say?”
“I need to consult my International Morse decoder ring, by Mennen, sir.”
Corporal Farnsworth twisted his decoder ring with each of Johnny’s head thuds.
