July, 1965: Ishito Kashimuro was deliriously excited, his mustache moist with perspiration. From fifty yards away, he watched the back and forth paddle game in full swing. The fine white beach sand, the way his neighbor’s daughters were so thoroughly involved in play - it was just as he’d imagined it. He felt on the verge of exploding - but he had to get closer - without risking exposure. Kashimuro crept over the dunes through the biting beach grass until he was within several yards of the kids. He lifted his super 8 camera, focused, and triggered the record button. These were his babies! Paddle! Paddle! And then - oops - the small blue ball dropped noiselessly into the sand. What despondency, until, Paddle, Paddle, all over again! This was his invention, being used in the real world! The development guys at Kadima would drool over this footage.
