“This morning, ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests, I give you all, pure and uncut, the laughter of a child!”
Applause
“Go ahead, go laugh, laugh away. To your heart’s content. Don't be scared.”
Silence
“It’s okay, go on, now. Laugh for them. Like you do. It is so pleasing.”
Silence
“Maybe you didn’t hear me. I said laugh!”
Coughs; murmurs
“Go on.”
Trembling
“WHAT ARE YOU? DEAF? I SAID LAUGH YOU LITTLE FUCKER. LAUGH! LAUGH! LAUGH! LOATHSOME LITTLE SHIT. YOU CUMBAG. YOU HEAR ME NOW? YES? LAUGH, YES? OR ELSE! YES?”
Deep breath
Laughter
Relief;inspiration
Applause
The End

04/19/2004Will Disney: I liked the beginning pretty well. Explosively-angry outbusts as puncutation for Shorts seems to be a little bit rote these days but maybe this one is weird enough to make it work.
04/19/2004John Slocum (3): good, a little bit funny, not so inspirational. The funniest part is that the child laughs after being excoriated.
04/19/2004Jon Matza (4): This probably deserves a 3, but I have a weak spot for shorts that pertain to the psychological abuse of children.
04/19/2004Vampa1978 (2): eh...it was predictable and unfunny. This is something you see at a frat boy skit night or something uncivilized like that.
04/19/2004Ferucio P. Chhretan (4): frat boy skit night?
04/19/2004Vampa1978: isn't that what frat boys do - in addition to community service and rape?
04/19/2004Ferucio P. Chhretan: This clearly needs to be researched further.
Has anyone in the acmeshorts community ever seen a "frat boy skit night?"
If so, please fill us in on what happens.
04/19/2004Benny Maniacs (3): Frat boy skit nights were just these stupid events we'd throw, and each of us would have our own little talent we'd make a skit out of. That's all.
04/19/2004Ferucio P. Chhretan: Pray tell, Mr. Maniacs...What is your "little talent"?
04/20/2004Moe-Ron (2): moe-ron didn't like this at all. tres labored.
